“ Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilites, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation.”-John F. Kennedy
Classroom Rules:
- WORK HARD!
- BE NICE!
- LISTEN TO MRS. B!
Late Policy: Each school day a student does not turn in the assignment that it is due, 10% will be deducted from the assignment’s overall score. For example, if he or she turns in a research paper two school days late, the best score he/she could receive would be an 80% for that particular assignment. If a student is absent, the student receives the same amount of days gone to make up the work missed in class. Ex: Gone two days, gain two days.
Assessment Day: Students will be assessed each Thursday OR Friday of each 4 day week on the academic content that was covered during the particular week. The weekly assessment quizzes are developed directly from the content that was covered during the week, and there are no surprises on their assessments. Students are notified of quiz available questions during the homework review portion of their class. The quizzes in turn make up the final unit test that is given at the end of each topic unit. Those quizzes help to make the study guide and questions that appear on the final test.
Homework: Students will graded on their effort and completion of homework and participation in any homework review done in class. Homework is not designed to be an assessment but a guide to understanding the content from the lesson or topic in preparation for the assessment quiz or test later that week.
